Behind the Pulpit is a 30 minute, weekly podcast on The Equip Network. The focus of the program is on Homiletics – the technical aspects of effective preaching. The overall objective is to equip men to effectively communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ. Subjects discussed are of value to novice and experienced preachers alike. Special guest interviews and responses to listener’s questions will be a regular part of the program as well.
The program is hosted by Wayne Roberts, minister of the Parker church of Christ in Parker Colorado and Bob Turner, Director of Extensions for the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver in Denver, Colorado. The hosts dynamic and positive personalities will enhance the learning experience.
Wayne Roberts serves as the pulpit minister for the Church of Christ in Parker, Colorado where he has been working since 1997. He is also on the adjunct staff of the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver. Wayne has done extensive study in the area of Homiletics and Vacation Bible School and spends several weeks a year training others in these efforts. He is a sought after speaker, lecturer, author and former co-host of the “Get Real” radio program.
Wayne and his wife Tami have been married 29 years. They have five children and two grandchildren.
Bob Turner graduated from the Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver in 1993 and completed the Master’s Program at Bear Valley in 2008. They have served as a part of the mission’s team in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada for nearly 5 years and Bob served as the pulpit minister for the Greenbrier Church of Christ in Greenbrier, Arkansas for 11 years. In August of 2008 Bob began working with the Bear Valley Bible Institute, as an instructor, and in March, 2009 took the responsibilities as the Director of Extensions.
Bob has been married to Sheryl for nearly 28 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.
